Hey 9-12ers -

Did you see GBTV last Thursday night? Did it crystallize your attention toward the scale of the threats that this country faces? How prepared are you for a massive disaster?

Glenn made the point that although he is not good at timing, he believes the time is short before trouble begins. I feel I cannot ignore this warning because of his predictive track record over the last 10 years.

You can see it in the news: We have had nearly 6 years of economic malaise and the growing hatred and conflict is following the pattern of the 1930s and the 1960s.

In the list of things to do that Glenn gave us, he made the point that no place will be untouched. I believe that the possibility of danger is higher if individuals are facing major conflict alone. None of us have to face that possibility alone. We can prepare and offer each other the safety that comes in numbers.

We are creating an off-the-grid network so that in the case of a large scale disaster, we can move information, food and other supplies across the state without the use of telecommunication. That means organizing down to street level. If there are fuel shortages or civil unrest that blocks road passage we may need to walk or bicycle to the next contact link.

We are working from the principle that in a crisis, if you are not a part of the solution, then you are a threat. We will provide survival training via articles published on www.thegeorgia912project.org. We have an entire program to share with you.
