The Georgia 9-12 Project was inspired by The 9-12 Project kicked off by radio talkshow host, Fox News commmentator, author, stage dramatist Glenn Beck.
On March 13, 2009, Mr. Beck hosted a special episode of his Fox News show, Glenn Beck, entitled "We Surround Them," in which he called for the people of our country to recall the principles and values which inspired our Founders in the founding of and fighting for America. Beck distilled them from The Founders themselves and their Enlightenment philosophical inspirations like Burke, Hobbs, Locke, et. al.
If we would remember [Beck's distilled list of] Nine Principles and Twelve Values, then we could see how much our nation has strayed from them and The Founding. We could then act to take it back - we are not alone. We surround them.
Beck suggested that we start in our communities, that we educate ourselves, and then act. He envisioned an organic movement that acted without "marching orders" from him or any other national leader. The 9-12 Project was created by Glenn Beck and his company, Mercury Radio Arts, as a sounding board, news dissemination source and a touchstone for local event "meet-ups."
The Georgia 9-12 Project was born. With The Founders' Principles and Values firmly in mind, taking our own name from Beck's progeny, we set our own course.
What Is the Problem?
We believe that the Federal government is out of control. Our Constitutional form of government is beautiful - the best ever instituted by Man, and truly inspired. Most of its current occupants are abhorrent. They neither know nor care about American Exceptionalism. They are wholly inept at best; they are actively trying destroy us at worst.
These members are not confined to the current administration - our current crisis has been brewing for almost a century and especially during our lifetimes. It has been fostered by both major political parties.
The current occupants of the Federal government may be a lost cause. We will have to restore America by acting to re-assert states' rights under The Constitution. We will act for Georgia.
Who Are We?
We are a non-political state organization, with chapters all over Georgia. We have grown tired of parties. We do not exist to malign the current administration. While we believe in many different issues, our chief aim is to restore our Constitutional government by re-asserting states' rights. We will work within the system, using our individual power as citizens, rejecting tactics like deceit or violence.
We are the ambassadors of that which is "right, proper and good" about limited Constitutional government. We are an enlightened and involved citizenry in Georgia and America. We believe that other citizens will be looking to us and our group to set the standard.
We are the thought and action leaders in our communities; in our circles of influence. It is up to us. We must rise to the occasion.
If you believe in all or most of the Values and Principles, and you believe that our country is on the wrong path, than we would like you among our numbers. You are a critical part of the solution. You are not alone! We are here. Many others across the country are here!
We the People of Georgia are in control of our own lives. No distant Federal government may step in to control us. We will pursue our own life, liberty and happiness. But first, there is much work to be done.
Our Mission
The Georgia 9-12 Project's mission is to educate Georgians in the principles of The United States Constitution, so that we may act in the defense of liberty, capitalism, and inalienable human rights.
The 9 Principles and 12 Values were gleaned from the Founders and Enlightenment philosophers by Glenn Beck.
- Do you watch the direction that America is being taken in and feel powerless to stop it?
- Do you believe that your voice isn't loud enough to be heard above the noise anymore?
- Do you read the headlines everyday and feel an empty pit in your stomach... as if you're completely alone?
Principles
- America is good.
- I believe in God and He is the center of my Life.
- I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
- The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
- If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
- I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
- I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
- It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
- The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
